Please note that people presenting research at the conference must be 2026 members of the BFE. Membership entails a modest fee distinct from the conference fee: please join the BFE or renew your membership here.

Fee waivers and bursaries 

Presenters permanently and currently resident in the Global South who have already been approved by the programme committee to present online are eligible to have the fee waived. Please email Programme Chair Martin Stokes to register separately via bfe2026_kcl@proton.me. 

The British Forum for Ethnomusicology offers a limited number of bursaries to presenters whose economic circumstances make it difficult to afford the full fee. Delegates in such circumstances need 1) to pay the full registration fee below, then 2) apply directly to the BFE (byron.dueck@open.ac.uk) by 20th February for a bursary to subsidise their attendance.
